Itchy Reoccuring Bumps

A member of the ensemble presents itself - Achim Klotz [Parpignol and Alcindoro]

In the last week the baritone Ricardo Velásquez was so friendly to share his personal review about the latest Summer-Opera Bamberg workshop with us. Now we can hear something from the tenor Pablo Karaman, who played “Rodolfo” – the leading role in “La Bohème”.

Pablo, how has the project been for you and what was special?

The project was very nice, also from a human point of view.

What exactly does that mean?

I enjoyed the good feeling between the artists which was also evident on stage. I have the best memories of that experience.

When you take a look at the organisation in general and in comparison with theatres where operas are played regularly – 365 days a year – what can you say?

I was enriched humanly and professionally, it was a good "work out", because the Summer-Oper-Bamberg works like you work in the big theaters.

And what can you tell us about the music?

The musical level was very good.

The latest news about Pablo Karaman is that he was decorated with the studentship of the “Richard-Wagner Verband Bamberg”. He was chosen by the managing-committee (Richard Wagner-Verband Bamberg) and the artist director (Summer-Opera Bamberg).

Congratulations to Pablo!!

We will talk to him about this award and tell you something about the studentship later on.

For everyone who wants to hear Pablo Karaman in conert:
On Thursday, the 15th of April 2010 he takes part at a studentship-winner concert.
Place: Harmonie-Spiegelsaal, Schillerplatz 7; Bamberg
Beginning: at 8 o'clock pm.

The entrance is free.

We would be pleased, to see you there!

Was ist passiert?
Einige Zeit nachdem Rodolfo und Mimi sich ineinander verliebt haben, ziehen erste dunkle Wolken am Horizont on. Rodolfo and his friends are now living in a guest house.

Mimi, now appears seriously ill, and Marcello hopes to meet there. In desperation she tells him that Rodolfo and they are fighting just yet. She can not understand why Rodolfo is mad with jealousy and they really want to get rid of, although it gives him no reason. The tears she asks Marcello to help because they can not live with Rodolfo. Marcello, the compares the relationship of the two with his own, happy relationship with Musetta, sees the hopelessness and advises her to part with. Full of pain and weakened by her illness, asks Mimi Marcello about to tell Rodolfo that sie in der Beziehung keine Hoffnung mehr sieht.

What has happened?
Some time after Mimi and Rodolfo fell in love with each other one can see the first direful signs.

Rodolfo and his friends are now living in a tavern.

Mimi, who is seriously ill, appears and hopes to meet Marcello. She describes him despairingly her quarrels with Rodolfo. Mimi can't understand why on earth Rodolfo is eaten up with jealousy and wants her to get herself another lover although she loves him with all her passion. Moved to tears she begs Marcello to help her because she is not longer able to go along this way. Marcello, who compares this relationship to his own with Musetta (which is "full of songs and laughter")realise the hopelessness Mimi and advise to quit her relationship. Nearly out of her mind and enervated by her bad cough Mimi asks him to tell Rodolfo she wants to break up with him.

" For me the experience was wonderful. I learned a lot, and working with Edda Moser was very interesting. My technique has improved a lot. "

By talking to him out of that, in addition to the many contacts with other musicians, Bamberg, and especially the professional Organization of the opera workshop was very much impressed.

" Bamberg is wonderful and I just wish I could have a good excuse to go back someday.
I met great people and the organization was wonderful. I could say one of the best ones I have ever worked in.
"

Since his time in Bamberg has also done a lot in his career.

" After October, I went to LA and did a very god audition for Mr. Domingo, and hopefully I would receive good news soon. Besides that I have been singing a lot in Barcelona, Luxembourg, New York and Panama. "
